Hello! I would like to share with you the most amazing show. I first saw The Book of Mormon back in December 2013 then in March 2014. After a 4 year hiatus, I happily returned to my favorite place, O̶r̶l̶a̶n̶d̶o̶ The Eugene O’Neill Theatre. My friend won the lottery and graciously invited me. With the lottery, we sat in a box closest to the stage. Though the view was slightly obstructed, it provided a new experience to the show. In addition to seeing the actual show, I watched the conductor guide the show and the audience experience each show. This view greatly enhanced my BoM experience.
After 4 years, the show remains absolutely delightful. The score is both joyful and filled with biting social commentary that is as relevant as ever. Though the original cast left the show nearly 6 years ago, the new cast brings such life to each character. Elder Cunningham’s genuine eagerness and optimism added such depth and love to the show. His gleefulness was infectious.
I laughed for 2 1/2 hours straight and left the theater singing to myself. There’s a reason why the show continues to sell-out shows nearly 7 years after it opened.
Have you seen the Book of Mormon? What did you think?
